At the age of 9 years old, Pete received his very first guitar for his birthday. From two formally trained brothers, Pete began his guitar instruction and to immerse himself in many musical styles. These two gentleman taught Pete not just chord strumming but also how to both play by ear as well as reading written notation.
By his teens, Pete was jamming and playing in several different musical configurations from duo’s to group settings.
At the age of 18, Pete began his study with Yukon jazz guitar player and instructor, Mr. Rob Mackay. Under Mr. Mackay’s tutelage, Pete would begin to expand his musical ability and musical ideas.
Returning to Ontario, in 1986, Pete began to instruct his first young player. Over the past 3 decades Pete continues to expand his musical background and has instructed many players, many who continue to play and work in several different musical capacities.
